Risas y Sonrisas is a complete Spanish curriculum for grades K–6. Teachers can use it with beginners who are learning the basics or with students who already have some Spanish experience and are ready to develop more advanced communication skills.

No. Language is acquired through meaningful exposure rather than age alone. Younger children are just as capable of learning new vocabulary and phrases as older students. The main difference is that emerging readers have not yet developed reading skills and often have shorter attention spans. The curriculum is rich in content and designed to grow with students. Teachers simply skip the activities that require reading and more advanced grammar activities until students are ready for them.

The core curriculum is the same for everyone. School packages include larger-format and higher-quantity printed materials than homeschool packages. Both include teacher access to the Online Program, where additional individual student logins can be added. Schools also have the option to create generic class logins. Virtual instructors typically choose either the Online Program or the homeschool package with individual student logins.
